branding

Branding is a very interesting vehicle for Marketing. You brand a product and customers know the product by the brand. Customers are not concerned where it is manufactured. You may outsource the manufacturing to a plant in one country, shift in future to another country but the end customer is not concerned about the source of manufacturing. The product earns revenue not on the basis of manufacturing country but on the basis of the brand it represents. Same product manufactured in same manufacturing location but marketed in 2 different brand name may earn revenue and profits of varied degree. The brand is known depending on different attributes and the appeal of the attributes to the end customer is relative.
